The new X350 Jaguar XJ introduced in 2003 was larger overall than any previous XJ, with more room inside and in the boot area. The X-350’s styling hid Jaguar’s new all-aluminum bodywork with lighter magnesium crossbeam along the bulkhead and for the interior seat frames. The body was also built from fewer panels than previously, producing a car that was not only 60 percent stiffer but also 40 percent lighter. It also featured sophisticated air suspension, emergency brake assist, electronic parking brake and bi-xenon headlights.
The new 4.2 litre supercharged V8 in the XJR produced 400 bhp, the transmission was a ZF 6-speed auto. Jaguar produced 7,316 XJRs in the 7 years from 2003 to 2009.
