The GT Speed was introduced in 2008 for a substantial premium over the regular Continental GT Coupe. In addition to the uprated performance with 592 bhp, a strengthened gearbox, revised steering, firmer/lowered suspension and 20" multi-spoke wheels, visually it had larger exhaust tailpipes with oval tips, the Mulliner Drivers Pack interior with its diamond quilted leather seats alloy pedals and gear knob, and a dark-tinted radiator grille. The new offering was very popular with the Speed model soon making up 70% of the production mix.
